Fireside Chats began at IU House in Eldoret, Kenya during the late 1990s for AMPATH trainees and visitors to connect, reflect and learn more about global health. They’ve continued weekly since then, even without a fireplace, with fascinating reflections and lessons from AMPATH leaders.

Simon Says Expert Series: The Unexpected Journey to Global Oncology
Last year, cancer patients at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Western Kenya had access to radiation therapy for the very first time. This marked a significant step forward in a vision IU Distinguished Professor Dr. Patrick Loehrer has been molding for more than 15 years as he dreamed of improving both cancer care and research in Kenya.
